Get ready for another “nothing special” with a touch of boring with one and only Wicked and theeeee lovely girls like Kenzie Taylor and Melody Marks. Trust me just one look at the cover page for this series, and everything will be crystal clear. If you haven’t seen the cover of it, I’ll spoil it for you, or maybe Wicked did because it is always DRAMA with a stupid twist, and this time it is a high-school relationship at its breaking point. Hurray!
Talk of The Town Overview
Ah, Young Love—or something like that. Because nothing says “cinematic masterpiece” quite like a porn series with a Wicked-brewed plot and a dose of fresh drama and scandal. Just what I lacked! At the heart of this groundbreaking (snort) tale is the relationship between Ophelia Brooks (Liz Jordan) and Patrick Humbert (Parker Ambrose), two lovebirds who have been together since their late teens and are now entering that crucial “should we settle down or start sleeping with other people?” phase in their junior year of college. When are young going to get that body count high if not in those years? So, the dilemma is quite realistic for the first time since Wicked first made a series!
Yeah, small-town talks, gossip about Ophelia’s true intentions because of Patrick’s inheritance, different backgrounds, and geographical distance are also on their necks, but let’s be honest: would you miss out on college girls? After we kick off with a sex scene in the first 30 seconds of the series, the audience may become aware that the sex won’t be as wild as it could. And, although, I often criticize Wicked for taking too long for the sex part, I would never advocate for not explaining a series if it is a series.
As this was not enough, here come Patrick’s parents Gwen (Kenzie Taylor) and Alan Humbert (Seth Gamble) for the most awkward parental introduction that no one ever wants to live through, because you need to get another episode sold. In a nutshell, they talk for a few minutes about their son, and that gets Seth Gamble hard for another mild sex scene.
However, the sex scene, although unproductive for the audience and their needs, showcased rather productive for the plot. After getting their mind cleared, Patrick’s parents decide on a direct intervention to break up the relationship. Naturally, Patrick responds to this concern in the most rational way possible: by proposing. Because nothing screams “solid decision-making” like doubling down on a relationship under fire. Now the fate of the proposal and their marriage-to-be, and all the forgettable sex it comes with, I’ll leave to you, the audience, to find out on your own. I mean it must not suck if it is called “Talk of The Town”, it reeks of the 2000s and its cringe-girly TV shows. Mild sex, stupid plot, terrible acting, and Seth Gamble – you decide!
